Albuquerque is one of America's most attractive south-western cultural centers. The city is beautifully located among the spectacular ranges of the Sandia Mountains. For both a professional and an amateur athlete, Albuquerque does not only offer a perfect training location but also a dream place for cultural enrichment, recreation, and the after-workout fun.

Albuquerque is perhaps best known for its annual hot-air balloon events, which attract thousands of people from around the world, as well as for the longest cable tramway in the world.

Located only one hour from downtown Albuquerque is Santa Fe, one of the most charming and oldest of American towns, nationally known for its large number of art galleries offering Native American creations. Some of the Santa Fe churches remember the times of the Spanish Conquistadores... and today, besides being the centers of the religious life of the area, are the towns most interesting historic attractions. Several of the town's wonderful small restaurants offer delicious foods and can contribute to a well spent week-end for the most demanding tourists.

New Mexico's Petroglyph national Monument, is another place worth visiting near Albuquerque. As you walk among the enormous rocks with petroglyphs on them, you are witnessing one of the oldest recorded human creations on earth: the petroglyphs have been estimated to be made between 2,000 to 3,000 years ago by 'Archaic hunting-and-gathering peoples
